Tarasa: in most cases that I've seen this, it has to do with the incoming and outgoing ports not being selected correctly. Bellsouth might have their incoming on a different port number or something, can't really say, as I've never used Bellsouth. On ATT, it really is Yahoo, and are you manually configuring the accounts or doing it automatically first and then modifying it?

Hi Richard,

I'm glad to know that there's help out there for me. I too have 1 bellsouth personal, 1 bellsouth business, 1 att business and a hotmail personal email accounts. I was able to successfully install the personal bellsouth using the yahoo option after selecting the add account option and the hotmail account selecting the other option. However, I was not very successful installing the business bellsouth and att email accounts. The yahoo option nor any of the steps that others were successful at, I was able to accomplish. I contacted att DSL department, on the telephone hours and 1-800-myiphone for hours also. I get the SAME message that others mentioned in the responses, i.e. password and/or username is incorrect, etc...I have turned the phone off, turned the phone on, disconnected the Wi Fi, reset network setting, deleted all accounts and started over and repeated all the steps several trying with every listed suggestion on this site. I don't believed, I spent my entire day on trying to successfully install these two email accounts on the iphone, just just could not get it. I don't know what else to do PLEASE CAN SOMEONE HELP ME?????? Or the IPhone has to go BACK!!!!!

Eric,

Thank you for your info on March 6th. It worked for me! I can't believe it worked after spending hours on the phone with AT&T and Apple.

Just bought my iPhone and installed a Print application that will allow printing of emails, photos, documents, etc. Since the standard iPhone email application uses the cwmx.com server for SMPT outgoing mail, I thought I would continue using it with this new application; but, it asks me for a Username, Password, SSL, and port for the cwmx.com server. I can't find in the iPhone what values these items have been set for in the standard iPhone mail application. Does anyone know where these are listed?

I've spent hours trying to get ATT mail on my new iphone -- with Apple iphone tech support, Apple Genius bar employees, ATT mobile tech support, ATT DSL tech support, etc. Apple people tell me it's an ATT problem, and ATT people swear it's an APPLE problem. This is absurd. I've followed these directions but still can't make it happen. How does one lodge a complaint of this nature?
