Anime Series Summary and Synopsis
Trinity Blood is an anime distributed by Gonzo Digimation based on Magna written by Yoshida Sunao (1969-2004). The anime series is set at no particular time in the distant future where an apocalyptic war has virtually destroyed most of human civilization. Humanity has managed to rebuild itself centered around the Roman Catholic Chuch, a militant religious power, devoted to protection of the remaining humans in a
climatic cold war with the other major power, the Methuselahs who prey upon the humans.
The Vatican, located in Rome, is led by Pope Alessandro XVIII. He is assisted with help from his brother: Cardinal Francesco di Medici, the head of Inquisition, Archbishop of Cologne, and Duke of Tuscany; and sister: Cardinal Caterina Sforza, head of the A.X. (Vatican Special Ops) that is a sub section of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Duchess of Milano. The three, along with the fathers and sisters battle against the Methuselahs sects such as the Fleurs du Mal and the Rosen Kruez Orden located in Byzantium.
The Vatican’s secret weapon, a Crusnick (a vampire that hunts other vampires), Father Abel Nightroad is the central figure in the anime. He’s a traveling priest and an executor (agent) of Cardinal Caterina’s A.X., he is pitted against the likes of many Methuselahs who are all trying to destroy the Vatican and enslave the humanity. He is helped by Sister Esther Blanchett, the newest member of the A.X.. The Trinity Blood synopsis at Bui4Ever.com is purposely kept broad and general with few specific details as not to spoil the story too much. Please use the episode synopsis as a general guide and not a detailed, in-depth analysis of the entire series.
