Cherry Blossom Festival at Japantown
So I went to the 40th Annual Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival at Japantown in San Francisco, CA today. Very cool event. It was super crowded and they closed off Post street between Fillmore Street and Laguna Street for the grand parade that marched from City Hall to here. There were many participants, my primary interest was the Anime Costume Contest which started late at 3pm. The grand parade started at 1pm. Mayor Gavin Newsom was there to speak as well as the Chief of Police, Heather J. Fong.
This was ninth consecutive year the Anime Costume Contest has been going on. It was quite an experience to see in person and see the level of detail Anime fans devoted to the costumes. My Civic Duty
After nearly seven years of never receiving a jury summons, I finally received my very first one. It’s ironic, I finally receive a jury summons when one of the few jobs can actually preclude me from serving. Grand National Rodeo at Cow Palace
On Saturday, Andrea and I attended the Grand National Rodeo at the Cow Palace. It’s quite an experience when you watch an actual rodeo in person. The Cow Palace was only about 70% filled. We also got treated to a Heart concert after the rodeo, which was cool.

What Am I Up To Now?
So some people have been asking me what is it that I do exactly? As you may have heard, I left San Jose State almost two months ago. I left State service to pursue new interests and new challenges, so now I currently work for the City and County of San Francisco (CCSF). My official designation, IS Administrator III.
