I’ve been so busy with so many different things that I completely forgot about my one year anniversary (February 12) at work! It’s amazing how time flies. It only seemed like its been a few months since I left San Jose State University for the City and County of San Francisco. There is only so much that can be achieved in one year. So what have we done since I’ve been there? Continue reading How Times Flies When You’re Having Fun: My 1 Year Anniversary

Gung Hei Fat Choy!!!
Happy New Year! We are now officially in the Year of the Rat. A lot to be thankful for:
It’s a beautiful day here in San Francisco, Andrea and I, for the most part, are healthy, Stripes is doing well, I have the most important person (Andrea), My parents, sister, and family are in good health, Work here at the Office of the Public Defender is great, and I have great co-workers.
So can’t really complain. BTW, you might notice that things look a little different around here. Say hello to Bui4Ever theme #17. It’s not quite done, I was hoping to get it all finished in time for Chinese New Year, but unfortunately there is still quite a bit to do under the hood. If things don’t quite look right, it’s because I’m still working on it. The site organization of information is changing; hopefully for the better. Things should will be easier to find. For now, you may have to rely on the search.
Gung Hei Fat Choy.
Thank You
Today, Andrea and I both have a day off of work; one of the many benefits of working for the government (State and County, respectively). I won’t lie, it’s really nice to have those three day weekends; gives you a chance to get errands, shopping, chores, extra sleep and many other things done.
But today isn’t an ordinary holiday or another one of those holidays that you just happen to get off work. Today is the day we honor our past and present Veterans. Veteran’s Day is especially important today and these past few years because of what has been happening in Afghanistan and Iraq. I didn’t truly appreciate this until I happened to catch CNN Special Investigations Unit: Combat Hospital at the gym. It’s true that you get desensitized to a certain degree when you hear nothing but death statistics on the news, but it becomes more of an eye opener and shocking when you see survivals who lose limbs or what not.
So as we sit safely at home enjoying the freedoms we take for granted on a daily basis, we would like to at least take the time and say thank you to the troops currently serving and fighting and to those who have served and passed on, and to those who have served and are permanently injured. Thank you for fighting for our freedoms and rights. Thank you.
Some Changes
Change is good. Change is important to continue to grow and learn. Change keeps things interesting. So you may have noticed that Andrea and I have a personal site that we’ve been using since last year to keep friends and family apprised of wedding happenings. We’ve kept it secret up until after the wedding, but it wasn’t exactly a well kept secret because those who were Google savvy could easily find it, but we didn’t want to make it too easy to find. So basically what that means is that there is no longer a need to have an Andrea and Richard section on Bui4ever.com because there is an entire site dedicated to us that is now fully public. So it’s time to do some reorganizing and house cleaning.
In the coming weeks (and possible months depending on my schedule), Bui4Ever.com will be redesigned with a new theme and some sections will be moved (such as the Andrea and Richard section) and removed (personal information will no longer be posted here but rather on the Andrea and Richard site). The site will then be more focused on technology, web architecture, and a portal for all the other sites that I run or manage.
The AndreaandRichard.com site will also receive a face lift and I’ll be actively posting updates about us including our travels and pictures.
I’ll also be architecting a photoblog site.
So that’s the plan so far.
Hey look, I’m on Facebook now!
